What Is the Best Treatment for Rosacea?
Rosacea is a common, long-term inflammatory skin condition causing facial redness, flushing, sensitivity, visible blood vessels and sometimes acne-like spots.
So, what is the best treatment? There isn’t one treatment that works for everyone. Evidence supports a personalised approach based on your individual symptoms.
For inflammatory rosacea, prescription treatments including ivermectin, azelaic acid and metronidazole may be recommended following clinical assessment. Persistent redness and visible vessels may respond better to IPL or vascular laser.
Supporting the skin barrier is equally important. At SE Medical, we may combine personalised medical-grade skincare, daily SPF and Dermalux LED phototherapy to help support and calm sensitive, inflammation-prone skin.
What about newer treatments?
Emerging research is exploring regenerative treatments for rosacea. Early studies using Juvelook®️ (PDLLA + HA) have reported improvements in persistent facial redness, including difficult-to-treat rosacea. Exosomes are also being investigated for their potential regenerative and anti-inflammatory effects, with early reports showing improvements in erythema.
While research is still emerging, these treatments may be considered as an adjunct to established rosacea therapies as part of a personalised treatment plan.
